In 2006, Mario started his career in the door industry right out of school with a business degree in finance from San Jose State University. He gained tremendous experience in the industry and became knowledgeable in high-end products and learned how to personalize those products to the customer’s vision.

During the depths of the recovery after the great recession, Mario found an opportunity to go into business for himself in the door and window industry when he stumbled upon Outlet Doors and Windows. When he first purchased it in 2010, it was a “boneyard” business which sold doors and windows that were overstock, miss orders, and returns. The original business at the time did not have a door shop and just sold items “as is”. Having a background working for other door shops, Mario slowly transformed the business into selling only new product.

In 2013, Mario incorporated the business and changed the name to Cal Craft Specialty Products. Since then, the team has created a full pre-hung door shop, moving into the back half of the building in 2015. This move doubled the size of the “door shop” space and added a few thousand square feet of warehouse storage for raw and finished materials. After expanding the shop and settling into the entire building, remodeling of the showroom was the next big project our team embarked upon. The showroom was completed in early 2017 with its official debut in mid-April. All of these improvements have been with one goal in mind. To provide our customers with a place they can receive the highest level of service and where they can make the best product decisions for their homes.
